From 2010 till 2012, Geidai carried out an activity called “GEIDAI TAITO SUMIDA Sightseeing Art Project” in collaboration with Taito Ward and Sumida Ward of Tokyo. The project aimed at promoting sightseeing in the area surrounding the banks of the Sumida River.
Since 1999, we have also undertaken the “TORIDE ART PROJECT” with the cooperation of Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture. This is a project that works toward expanding interaction among citizens, the local government and Geidai in an effort to develop the city as a cultural city.
Also, Geidai plays a leading role in the project “Global Capital of Culture, Ueno” along with the Agency for Cultural Affairs. This is a project in which we aim to leverage the strengths of cultural and academic institutions in the Ueno Park area, including Ueno Zoo, to become an international symbolic site of art and culture.
On top of that, we have been carrying out a collaborative program with Adachi Ward, Tokyo, to provide support for musical education or using music to facilitate parent-child communication. We also collaborate with Yokohama City in developing a cultural arts city.
We will keep up our efforts for disseminating the attractive Japanese culture to the world through community collaboration.
