Dear all international students of Tokyo Geidai,

The first semester will soon be over, and summer holidays will begin, however the COVID-19 pandemic shows no sign of abating. The Japanese government’s quarantine measures remain strict.

Non-essential travel is strongly discouraged at this time. However, if you have a special reason and cannot avoid traveling to your country, before you purchase your flight ticket and leave Japan, please ensure to check the rules and procedures for re-entry back into Japan.

Currently, special measures are implemented when (re-)entering Japan due to the spread of COVID-19. In addition to the usual procedures, it is necessary to secure a place to stay for 14 days for self-quarantine and a means of transportation from the airport to the accommodation. These measures are subject to change depending on the situation, so please be certain to keep up with the latest information on the websites of the Japanese embassy in your country and other reliable sources. If you fail to comply with all quarantine measures required by the Japanese government on re-entry, your personal information may be made public, and there is a possibility that your future international activities may be affected.

In addition to Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the University Office will be closed during the summer holiday, from Monday, August 9, 2021, to Friday, August 13, 2021. During this time, we are unable to respond to phone calls or emails.
