書道は、文字を表現する芸術であり、姿勢や作法など日本文化の真髄がつまっています。
書き初め（かきぞめ）とは日本で古くから行われている年始の伝統行事の一つで、新年の抱負や縁起のいい文字などを書きます。
この機会に日本の書道について学び、自分の好きな漢字や言葉を表現してみませんか？
書道家の柳田さやか先生をお呼びし、日本の書道の歴史に関するレクチャーの後、道具を使って実際に文字を書くワークショップを行います。
ワークショップの概要
［日時］2023年1月11日（水）13:00〜14:30 ※参加費無料

［プログラム］全90分予定
・書道の歴史に関するミニレクチャー
・実践（基本の筆の運び方を練習した後、参加者それぞれの好きな漢字を書きます）
［講師］ 柳田さやか先生
東京出まれ。東京藝術大学芸術学科助教。博士（芸術学）。研究分野は日本書道史。書道にこころを惹かれ、中学生の頃に、日本でも珍しい書道学科のある東京学芸大学へ進学することを決める。同大学の学部・大学院を卒業・修了後、美術館学芸員を経て、現在は大学にて日本書道史や書写・書道教育の講義をおこなっている。また、栴檀社に所属し、毎日書道展や東方書道展などに出品している。最近の研究テーマは、「日本の書道の特徴とはなにか？」（JSPS科研費 JP21K12869「日本書道史の「和様」に関する文献学的研究 」）。将来的には、書のグローバルヒストリーの構築を目指せればと考えている。

※筆、墨汁、硯、半紙、下敷き、文鎮などの書道の道具は大学が用意します。（ご自分の道具を使いたい方はフォームでお知らせください）
※参加費はかかりません。
※書道で使う墨液（インク）は、服などにつくと大変落ちづらいため、汚れてもいい服装で参加するか、エプロンなどの用意をおすすめします。

Japanese calligraphy (書道 Shodo) is the art of written expression and encompasses essential aspects of Japanese culture, including posture and manners.
Many people in Japan start their new year with writing their new year’s resolutions or lucky characters/words in a traditional ceremony called “Kakizome”（書き初め first writing of the year).
Please take this opportunity to learn about Japanese calligraphy and express your favorite kanji or words in calligraphy.

[Program]
– Short lecture on the history of Japanese calligraphy
– Writing practice
（After practicing basic strokes, each student will write his/her favorite kanji characters)
[Lecturer] Ms. Sayaka Yanagida
Born in Tokyo. Assistant Professor, Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Fine Arts. PhD specializing in the history of Japanese calligraphy. Became enthralled with calligraphy as a child and while in junior high school resolved to study at Tokyo Gakugei University, one the few schools to offer a program in calligraphy studies. Completed undergraduate and graduate studies and worked as a museum curator, and currently lectures at universities on the history of calligraphy and photography/calligraphy education. Also belongs to Seidan-sha and participates in the Mainichi and Toho calligraphy exhibitions. Researching the characteristics of Japanese calligraphy (JSPS grant JP21K12869) and aims to develop a global history of calligraphy.

Please specify the kanji characters you want to write at the workshop in the form. We will prepare a model example.

– Japanese-English translation will be provided.
– Calligraphy tools (brush, ink, paper, inkstone, underlay, paper weight. etc) will be provided. If you want to bring your own tools, let us know in advance.
– No participation fee
– Calligraphy ink stains are extremely hard to remove. Please come in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron.
