【レポート】2024年度 茶道体験【Report】Tea Ceremony -Lecture and workshop 2024

2024年7月5日、裏千家茶道教授の保科宗眞先生をお迎えし、留学生対象の茶道体験ワークショップを行いました。
今年度のテーマは「七夕 / 「茶の湯」は現代アートに寄与するか」。国際交流会館Taki Plaza４階茶室にて実施しました。
前半に行われた講義では、茶道が平安時代に日本へと渡り文化とし確立した歴史的な話から、日本の美意識である「わびさび」、茶道の文脈に基づいた現代アート作品の話など幅広くレクチャーを行ってもらいました。
そのあと茶室に移動し、茶道における作法を一つ一つ実演を交え学びました。また、七夕の時期に合わせた和菓子とお茶をいただき、学生は見て、触れて、味を愉しみながら茶道の魅力に触れることができました。

On 5 July 2024, Tea Ceremony -Lecture and workshop for international students was held with Urasenke professor Machiko Soshin Hoshina.
This year’s theme was “Tanabata / chanoyu, contribute to contemporary art?”. The workshop was held in the tea ceremony room on the 4th floor of the Taki Plaza, the international exchange building.
The first half of the lecture covered a wide range of topics, from the historical story of the tea ceremony’s arrival in Japan in the Heian period and its establishment as a culture, to the Japanese aesthetic of ‘wabi-sabi’ and contemporary artworks based on the context of the tea ceremony.
Afterwards, the participants moved to a tea ceremony room and learnt the etiquette of tea ceremony one by one with demonstrations. The students were also treated to Japanese sweets and tea, which coincided with the Tanabata Festival, and were able to experience the charm of the tea ceremony while enjoying the sight, touch and taste.
