東京藝大ウィンドオーケストラ ミッドウェストクリニック（シカゴ）ファイナルコンサート出演！Tokyo Geidai Wind Orchestra performed at a concert for the finale of the Midwest Clinic 2016

2016年12月15～17日に開催された吹奏楽界最大のイベント、『ミッドウェストクリニック2016（70周年大会）』へ東京藝大ウィンドオーケストラ（TGWO）が招待を受け、ファイナルコンサートへ出演しました。併せて、現地の高校生との交流演奏会や本学美術学部の協定校、シカゴ美術館附属美術大学（SAIC）内での交流演奏会も開催しました。

参加学生のコメント
・音楽を伝えることの楽しさ、国による音楽文化の違い、人種の違いなど様々なことを学べ、自分にとって非常に良い経験となりました。
・日本では滅多に見ない全員のスタンディングオベーション、多くの歓声が頂けたときに、演奏することはやめられないなと感じました。
・いつもと違う響き方のなかでどのように音楽を作っていくか、ということを勉強できるとても良い機会となりました。
Tokyo Geidai Wind Orchestra (TGWO) was invited to the 70th Annual Conference of the Midwest Clinic, the largest instrumental music education conference in the world, which was held from December 15 to 17, 2016, in Chicago, the United States. TGWO performed at the final concert for the 2016 conference as well as other joint concerts with students of a local high school and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), a partner institution of Geidai’s Faculty of Fine Arts. TGWO and Geidai were very grateful to the supporting and sponsoring organizations that helped the orchestra to participate in the conference.

Finally, the day came. President Crain of Midwest Clinic visited the stage rehearsal to present TGWO with a commemorative plaque.
Professor Masaharu Yamamoto conducted the orchestra.
