This year (2020) is the final year of the project titled ”Multifaceted promotions led by art and culture exchanges with the ASEAN members: Building “soft” infrastructure and a quality assurance system through social practices“ implemented under the Inter-University Exchange Project.

Through this project, Tokyo University of the Arts has developed a network in the region through its experience working with universities of the arts in five countries around the Mekong river (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar), and with musicians, artists, and professionals in various cultural fields. As one of these achievements as well as the hope of sustainability of our network, we have launched the online exchange platform, TMOP (Tokyo University of the Arts ⇄ Mekong Online Platform 2020).

In 2020, the cross-border movement became difficult due to the impact of the COVID-19 infection, on the other hand, it became a year of rapid expansion of online exchanges. TMOP also aims to be an online platform for the university to foster art culture while interacting with art universities in the Mekong region.
